MGS: Peace Walker Demo Hits PSN This Week

December 15, 2009

Woohoo! While Japanese gamers have been enjoying a demo of MGS: Peace Walker, us English-speaking people have been sitting around waiting. Well wait no more! The Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker demo hits PSN this week! December 17th to be exact, but I’m sure you knew that since the PS Store updates every Thursday.

The demo will contain four missions and ad-hoc support, so you can test out the co-op mode that is being introduced. The worst part about the game is that while it hits Japan and Europe in March, we’ll have to wait until May! But knowing Hideo Kojima, it should very well be worth it.

Arkham Asylum News

December 14, 2009

If you haven’t played Batman: Arkham Asylum yet, you have no reason not to pick it up now. As part of Amazon’s Deal of the Day, the game is available for $34.98 only! Arkham Asylum is one of the best games of 2009, earning multiple nominations at the Spike VGAs, and the studio behind the game, Rocksteady picked up the Studio of the Year award. You’re going to end up in an asylum either way, but if you don’t buy this it’ll because you’re damn crazy!

The other bit comes from PlayStation LifeStyle, who did some close looking at the Batman: Arkham Asylum 2 teaser. So far, five villains have made “appearances”. The obvious ones would be well, obvious. Harley Quinn and the Joker are seen at the end of the trailer.

In the trailer you will notice a sign saying “Iceberg”. The first thing that comes to mind for many would be Mr. Freeze, but those that know their Batman lore will tell you that The Penguin owns the Iceberg Lounge.

Next up is a “We Want You” poster, but instead of Uncle Sam, there’s someone else rocking it. Despite being blurry, you can clearly see the disfigured side of Two-Face’s… face, as well as him holding a gun in one hand and flipping a coin in another. Two-Face was never physically in the original Arkham Asylum, but he was mentioned.

Finally, there is a sign saying “Sionis”. Once again, the Batman nuts will come to the rescue, or if you have every villain profile in the first game, that Batman has a foe named The Black Mask, who’s real name is Roman Sionis.
